Internship Summary:

Committed to attracting, developing, and retaining the best people across our firm and business service groups. Bowers Accountants & Advisors s is looking for highly motivated, collaborative, and results oriented Interns who thrive in a fast-paced environment to join our team for Summer 2024.

Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare tax returns for individuals.
Plan and prepare other tax compliance services as directed including trust returns and income tax
Scan and file tax documents into software for review.
Become familiar with and effectively utilize software in assigned areas.
Communicate concise and accurate project status updates to Supervisors, Managers, and Partners

Key Objectives:

Learn the tax return process (1044's): information gathering, client follow-up, preparation, and completion
Develop the ability to identify, understand, and address accounting issues.
Strengthen written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.
Actively participate in firm outings and activities as able.
Open to learning and being inquisitive

Qualifications:

Active enrollment and a major in Accounting, Business, or Finance (Junior standing or above)
Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting
Preferably pursuing the 150-credit hour academic requirement towards CPA eligibility
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Schedule: Bowers will work around summer schedules. Summer internships are on-site and are part-time.

Salary: $20.00-$30.00/hour
