Exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic fundraising professional who is eager to help drive the fundraising mission of a successful organization.
Reporting to the Vice President for Development, the Assistant Vice President for Development will be on the senior management team and responsible for:
- Working collaboratively to develop, implement and achieve strategic plans for increasing private support; provides leadership and direction for major gifts, corporate and foundation gifts, planned giving, annual giving, and donor relations.
- Leading a team of 8-10 front line fundraising professionals and providing mentoring, training, staff development and succession planning.
- Directly involved in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts.
- Working with the Vice President for Development on establishing measurable goals to increase fundraising results that are both aspirational and achievable.
- Provide metric based reports to the VP on fundraising programs, including benchmarking.
- Effectively communicates the mission and values of the organization.
- Has a working knowledge of current best practices in all aspects of fundraising.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree. Masters degree preferred.
- Min 10 years’ experience in professional fundraising.
- Strong leadership experience managing a team of front-line fundraisers.
- Academic health care experience is a plus.
- Proven success in cultivating, soliciting and closing major gifts.
- Strong project management, technology, and data-based decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
