Job Description:
DEPARTMENT: Library APPOINTMENT: Part time (Adjunct Faculty) REPORTS TO: Library Director - Provide reference and research services to library patrons, in person and online, using traditional library resources along with current and emerging technologies.
- Participate in the design, creation, and implementation of user-oriented services, including printed and web-based instructional resources, such as research guides, tutorials, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with library faculty and classroom faculty to integrate library services and resources into student learning in all forms of instruction and through a variety of delivery modes.
- Assist with formal and informal information literacy instruction in person and online.
- Promote awareness and use of library resources and services through social media and other means of outreach to users.
- Participate in collection development efforts, including the selection and withdrawal of materials in assigned areas.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the assessment function of the library.
- Assist library patrons and staff with the use of various computer hardware and software applications.
- Assist with the cataloging and weeding of library materials.
- Prepare periodic and special reports as required.
- Assist with formal and informal information literacy instruction in person and online.
- Perform other duties as required to support the overall operation of the library.
Requirements:
REQUIRED: - Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited program
- A broad background in the liberal arts
- Library experience in public services, reference services, and digital resources
- Working knowledge of current trends in educational technologies especially as they apply to academic libraries
PREFERRED: - Experience in a community college library
- Experience with integrated library systems
Additional Information:
Part-time positions are not benefit eligible. Up to 27.5 hours per week.
