The Cornell University Action Research Collaborative (ARC) brings together researchers, practitioners, community members, and policymakers to address pressing issues in society and improve lives. ARC researchers and practitioners use scientific evidence to inform decision-making in policy and practice, and to evaluate the effects of those decisions on the lives of communities–particularly those that have been historically marginalized. Our goal is to be responsive to the needs of communities and to support activities that improve lives and promote equity.
What You Will Do
ARC is seeking to hire a full-time program evaluator to work on several projects across New York State. The mission of ARC is to develop and support equitable and sustainable research-practice-policy partnerships that can generate solutions to improve the lives of communities that are too often neglected. ARC approaches partnerships using multiple disciplinary perspectives and methodological approaches. Also, it is imperative that community partners are involved in all phases of projects (i.e., from study design to dissemination of findings). The overarching goal is for these projects to inform interventions and public policies that support the well-being of marginalized populations. As the successful candidate you will join a dedicated team of researchers, students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty who support action research projects, and evaluate their effects on relevant outcomes. In addition, you will model and support a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellbeing and continually seek to understand how your role, behaviors, and actions impact the success of this culture.
This is a one-year (renewable), benefits-eligible appointment beginning August 1, 2024 (negotiable). This is fully on-site position based in Ithaca, NY on Cornell University’s campus. Some travel is required (e.g., visit partner sites across New York State).
No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance are provided for this position.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health (e.g., biostatistics, epidemiology), education, or a related field.
At least 2 years of full-time experience working as a program evaluator.
Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Ability to take initiative and simultaneously manage multiple research activities with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Excellent organization skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
Proficiency using survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, REDCap).
Proficiency conducting quantitative analyses using software such as SAS, STATA, SPSS.
Experience with scientific writing (e.g., conference abstracts, manuscripts)
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency conducting qualitative analyses using software such as NVivo, Atlas Ti.
Proficiency conducting geospatial data analyses using software such as ArcGIS.
