About the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps

The Opportunity
The administrative assistant position within the Department of Aerospace Studies and Cornell AFROTC offers the opportunity to provide skilled administrative support to officers, enlisted personnel, and students under the direction of a US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate essential program processes, including preparing and submitting confidential military and university documents, reports, and lists related to Air Force cadets. Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in university and military databases and accounts, managing cadets' work, scholarship, and military records. Act as primary point of contact, manage office reception, and arrange travel logistics. Coordinate classroom, facilities, and space usage. Assist in recruitment and admissions activities. Plan and coordinate logistics for events with up to 400 attendees. Monitor the department's annual operating budget, oversee Air Force scholarship funds, and handle purchasing for AFROTC needs.
What We Need

A high school diploma and at least two years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiently. Maintain and manage databases and information effectively. Manage administrative tasks with a focus on maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently. Utilize knowledge of student scholarships and grants administration. Navigate and utilize PeopleSoft and Course Class Interface systems effectively. Leverage prior military experience, veteran status, or experience with General Schedule (GS)/General Grade (GG) processes as applicable. Support administrative tasks related to financial and educational operations as required.
This is a full-time (39 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY and fully on-site. Work hours are 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
