About The Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science (CS) is an integral part of Cornell Bowers CIS. It offers CS undergraduate majors in the Colleges of Arts & Sciences and Engineering, and offers three graduate degree programs; the Master of Engineering, Master of Computer Science, and Ph.D. The department is considered one of the top Computer Science departments in the US, with world-class research covering all specializations.
The Opportunity
The Faculty Assistant plays a crucial role in providing specialized administrative support to over 50 department faculty, research groups, post-docs, graduate students, and visitors. You will be the in-person point of contact for the department admin team, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills. Your responsibilities will include coordinating complex travel arrangements, organizing itineraries for visitors, preparing materials for faculty, and supporting department seminars. This role also involves handling purchasing and reimbursement for grant-funded activities and participating in departmental events outside of regular business hours.
