The Opportunity
Cornell Law School is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator to support the Tenants Advocacy Project and the Veterans Law Project teams. The coordinator will play a key role in managing case intake, coordinating volunteer rotations, and facilitating case acceptance and referral processes. This position ensures smooth operation and collaboration between Law students, pro bono attorneys, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management: Coordinate case intake and manage the rotation of volunteers for the respective hotlines. Facilitate the acceptance and referral of cases to Law students within the practicums and to those working pro bono with the managing attorneys.
Project Support: Assist with a range of cases, from brief advice to full-scope representation, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently and effectively.
Screening & Referrals: Screen cases for public benefits legal issues and refer them to appropriate resources.
Website & Form Management: Update hotline and practicum websites and maintain accurate intake forms.
Document Processing: Process Law student confidentiality forms and retainer agreements to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Grant Reporting & Data Management: Assist with grant reporting and track case data to support project outcomes and funding requirements.
This is a full-time (39 hours/week, 1-year fixed term) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY. Employment through the intended term, as well as potential reappointment will be based on performance and funding availability. This position follows a 2:3 campus-to-home hybrid work arrangement. This hybrid work arrangement is subject to change at any time. Typical work hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
What You Need
We are looking for a team member who is organized, diligent, and proficient at technology. Additionally, you will:
Hold an Associate’s degree and 2-4 years of experience or equivalent.
Have the aptitude to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, handling multiple tasks with differing deadlines, and to prioritize work on projects happening simultaneously.
Utilize excellent written and oral communication skills, along with organizational, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Hold a strong service orientation and have attention to detail.
Be experienced in supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Be able to handle high volumes of work during peak periods.
Exercise discretion, resolve problems using sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, presentation, website editing and electronic communications.
If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications we would view as incredibly helpful in this role, to include:
Familiarity with Clio or similar case management platforms.

Rewards and Benefits
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role
remotely 3 days per week and on-campus 2 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
This position is based in Ithaca, New York. Employees who work remotely may receive
multiple W-2 Forms depending on their work location. The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholding for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside of New York State.
