About The Center for Life Science Ventures
The Center for Life Science Ventures, established in 2008, is a startup incubator designed to foster the development of new life science companies at Cornell. It focuses on accelerating research and product development, validating business plans, and enhancing management teams to prepare these companies for outside investment and self-sufficiency. The Center aligns with Cornell's mission as a NYS Morrill Land Grant institution by supporting economic development in the life sciences sector. Additionally, it collaborates closely with the Cornell Biotechnology Resource Center to promote research and entrepreneurial activities within the life sciences ecosystem.
The Opportunity
This position offers administrative support for the Center for Life Science Ventures, focusing on the development, launch, and incubation of independent businesses utilizing Cornell Life Sciences technology. The role is essential in facilitating the Center's mission and operational effectiveness. Responsibilities may include coordinating activities, managing communications, and assisting with various administrative tasks. Overall, the position contributes to the growth of innovative life science enterprises.
This is a part-time, benefits-eligible endowed position that requires 25 hours of work per week, based in Ithaca, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically work on-campus four days a week and remotely one day a week after completing an orientation period. The 25-hour weekly work schedule will be within the typical business hours period of 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday, with some flexibility possible in setting specific start and end times in that period.
