Director of Marketing and Communications
Location: Syracuse, NY - Onsite or hybrid with weekly travel to Syracuse
Salary: $125,000 to 150,000 per year plus bonus potential
Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with a leading redistributor serving customers across numerous states and international markets. As the company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing and Communications to lead brand development, drive multi-channel campaigns, and enhance market presence.
Position Overview:
This leadership role is responsible for shaping the company’s global marketing strategy, overseeing communications across all channels, and leading a high-performing team. The Director will champion digital transformation, execute innovative campaigns, and position the company as a thought leader in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global brand and marketing strategy
- Conduct market research to support product positioning and identify growth opportunities
- Lead integrated marketing communications across digital, print, and traditional channels
- Design and launch multi-channel campaigns to drive brand awareness and lead generation
- Oversee internal and external communications, including media and public relations
- Build, mentor, and manage the marketing and communications team
- Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure alignment and consistency
- Lead crisis communication and reputation management strategies
- Drive digital innovation to improve customer experience and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred
- Eight to twelve years of progressive leadership experience in marketing and communications
- Proven success in brand strategy, digital marketing, and campaign management
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience working in the food distribution, retail, or logistics industries is a plus
- Comfortable navigating culturally diverse markets and international brand positioning
