An established organization in Syracuse, NY is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to manage and execute biweekly payroll operations. This role requires strong technical payroll knowledge, and a deep understanding of federal and state payroll regulations. This is an On-Site position.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and process timely and accurate biweekly payroll for multiple employee groups.
Manage time approvals, data entry, auditing, garnishments, and benefit deductions.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, civil service rules, and internal controls.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure clarity and consistency in payroll processes.
Perform reconciliations and support the preparation of W-2s, 1095-Cs, and other payroll-related documentation.
Utilize reporting software to develop and generate payroll reports for internal and external compliance.
Assist with retirement system tier management, leave accruals, and benefit deduction codes.
Stay current with changes in payroll laws and implement best practices.
Contribute to ongoing improvement and efficiency of payroll operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 years of end-to-end payroll experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and common payroll tools and software programs.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
