Accounting Clerk
Full-Time | Onsite | Syracuse, NY
Pay: $25–$27/hour | 37.5 hours/week | Non-exempt
Join a mission-driven nonprofit making a real impact in our community. As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll handle core daily accounting functions and support month-end close while partnering with internal leaders and external financial management teams.
What you’ll do
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Reconcile staff credit cards and assist with routine account reconciliations
- Support month-end close with data entry, reporting, and documentation
- Prepare audit materials and seasonal tax forms (e.g., 1099s)
- Track in-kind donations and manage transit pass voucher distribution
- Pitch in on special projects and general accounting support
What you bring
- 2–3 years of accounting/clerical experience; degree in Accounting/Finance preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Detail-oriented, organized, and discreet with confidential information
- Strong communication skills; able to work independently and on a team
Schedule & Reporting
- Onsite in Syracuse, Monday–Friday
- 7.5-hour shift within 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (examples: 8–4, 8:30–4:30, 9–5)
- Reports to the CEO; collaborates with internal staff and external finance partners
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$27 per hour; comprehensive benefits package
