Role Overview:
As an Assistant Maintenance Manager, you'll be the linchpin in managing maintenance operations across these key locations. Your role will involve juggling multiple priorities, adapting to evolving needs, and maintaining open lines of communication with team members, clients, supervisors, and external partners. Your efforts will be crucial in enhancing daily operations and delivering top-tier maintenance services across our diverse sites.

A Typical Day Includes:
- Site Visits: Manage and oversee multiple locations, including Romeoville, Melrose Park, Chicago, Skokie, Cicero, and Downers Grove, ensuring each site meets high standards of maintenance and operational efficiency.
- Morning Briefing: Start your day with a team meeting to discuss priorities, review safety updates, and address any outstanding issues from previous shifts.
- Work Orders Management: Evaluate, prioritize, and delegate work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring tasks are assigned based on technician skills and availability.
- Facility Walkthroughs: Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and cleanliness standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations, overseeing safety training, audits, and inspections to promote a culture of safety.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics to drive improvements, generating reports and communicating findings to management and stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to maintenance technicians, conduct performance evaluations, and lead training and development initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, managing KPIs and holding team members accountable for achieving goals. Proven ability to lead and motivate maintenance teams is essential.
- Safety Commitment: Deep understanding of safety protocols and regulations, with experience in safety training and audits highly desirable.
- Educational Requirements: A 4-year degree with 3 years of leadership experience or a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in lieu of a degree. Relevant degrees or certifications in mechanical or electrical engineering, facilities management, or related fields are beneficial.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and facility stakeholders. Clear communication of maintenance strategies and prompt resolution of issues are key.
- Team Development: Strong skills in recruiting, training, and developing high-performing maintenance teams. Ability to foster a positive work environment and enhance team engagement.
- Multi-Site Experience is a Must!
Compensation & Schedule:
- Salary: $95,000 - $116,000 per year, plus a 10% bonus incentive.
- Schedule: Dependent on site needs, with flexibility required for on-call duties across multiple sites.
