Job Description: Digital Content and Promotions Assistant
Position Reports to: Communications Associate
Status: Non-exempt, full-time
Summary of Role: As a member of the Downtown Committee of Syracuse team, the Digital Content and Promotions Assistant will work closely with fellow team members on marketing and public relations initiatives. The Digital Content and Promotions Assistant will provide key support to the organization by maintaining information and implementing tactical approaches related to the marketing strategies, stakeholder communications and engagement, social media, and web presence of the organization, as well as helping to build the organization’s brand to raise awareness about downtown Syracuse and the Downtown Committee organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electronic Newsletter: Compile, design and curate content for Downtown Committee newsletters, manage Constant Contact, maintain and expand email contacts
- Event Support: Assist with delivery of events designed to engage a variety of constituent groups such as Downtown Dining Weeks, Progress Breakfast Series, Annual Meeting, Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival, Earth Day and holiday program promotions.
- Field information and respond to constituent questions coming through mail@downtownSyracuse.com and other sources
- Create content for the Downtown Committee social media channels, Downtown Residents Facebook page, Armory Square and other social media platforms
- Website Management: Manage online calendar of events, liaise with website designer(s)/programmer(s), update website and troubleshoot as needed providing support to team members
- Assist with updating brochures and publications to ensure accurate and relevant content, up-to-date business listings, manage brochure supply, printing and distribution
- Support other departments with apparel orders, signage orders and other administrative tasks as needed
- Other duties as required

- Understands constituent needs and expectations, the role of the Downtown Committee and the services it provides, and responds to requests in an accurate and timely fashion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact, Social Media platforms
- Experience with/Aptitude for website management and digital content
- Desire to take initiative, provide comprehensive information, build relationships, serve the public, be culturally aware, contribute constructively in a team atmosphere, and represent the Downtown Committee in a positive and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ Degree required; Marketing or Communications-related experience preferred
Salary and Benefits:
$40,000 - $48,000
