We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Syracuse, NY to manage the Accounts Receivable process, including invoicing, collections and cash management. In addition, this individual will work with the Corporate Controller to support other finance and accounting functions of the business. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and has strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

Essential Functions of Position:

Prepare accurate invoices according to the terms within customer contracts and agreements.
Monitor customer account activity and accounts receivable aging reports. Take proactive steps to address delinquencies and billing issues.
Process incoming cash receipts consisting of checks, wires, ACHs and credit card payments. Apply and reconcile daily cash receipts.
Assist with revenue cycle management to optimize cash flow.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to accounts receivable at month-end.
Coordinate with and support other finance & accounting functions in completing month-end close activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies.
Contribute to special projects as necessary.
Support and prepare required documentation for the year-end audit.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
Ability to work independently and as part of team.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
