Job Summary:
The primary role of the Product Information Associate is to be the company’s lead in establishing and maintaining a thorough and accurate product information database. This role works closely with all company departments to implement processes and manage vital product information that cascades throughout many aspects of the company’s functionality.
Essential Duties:
- Works directly with the Purchasing team on item file management procedures such as new item requests & item file modifications.
- Maintains third party business solutions sites such as Syndigo and GS1
- Partners with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize current and future requirements and opportunities to enhance the management of product information.
- Serves as a liaison and primary point of contact for all product data needs both internally and externally, such as integration needs with other company information systems, customer product data requirements, and Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) industry standards.
- Responsible for defining and communicating the lifecycle processes for product data management to ensure accuracy of data for both internal company use and external business partner use.
- Operates all aspects of analytics as it relates to product data (completeness, quality, etc.) and communicates relevant information to company leadership.
- Promote expansion of good product data management practices
- Serve as the functional subject-matter expert (SME) for the PIM system within the company.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related technical field and 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Significant knowledge of existing company systems, business processes and product data use cases.
- Significant knowledge of industry product data standards such as GDSN.
- Experience in a Product Content or Product Information Management a plus.
