Company Introduction: G&C Food Distributors is a re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. Our sole distribution center is in Syracuse, NY. We store and deliver more than 4,000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 27 states and 28 states internationally. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Salary Range: $125,000-$150,000 Annually with an Associate Bonus program

Job Summary:

The Director of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for developing and executing a global brand strategy, conducting market research to guide product positioning and identify growth opportunities, and overseeing integrated marketing communications across various channels. This role involves leading innovative, data-driven marketing campaigns, positioning G&C as an industry thought leader, recruiting and managing a high-performing marketing team, and developing crisis and reputation management strategies. Additionally, the Director will champion digital transformation initiatives to enhance marketing operations and customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Global Brand Strategy & Development:
- Craft and execute an ambitious, integrated brand strategy that reflects our legacy and global ambitions.
- Elevate and refine our brand identity to resonate with diverse international markets and drive competitive differentiation.
Market Research & Business Development:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends, emerging markets, and customer needs.
- Leverage data and insights to guide product positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market approaches.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Purchasing and Business Development teams to identify new growth opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and expansion strategies.
- Develop competitive analysis frameworks to ensure G&C Foods stays ahead of market trends and industry shifts.
Integrated Marketing Communications:
- Oversee the development of cohesive external communications across digital, print, social, and traditional media channels.
- Build and implement robust internal communication strategies to ensure alignment, transparency, and engagement across the organization.
Innovative Campaign Leadership:
- Lead data-driven, multi-channel marketing campaigns that boost brand awareness, drive lead generation, and support revenue growth.
- Utilize cutting-edge digital tools and analytics to continuously optimize campaign performance and ROI.
Thought Leadership & Industry Positioning:
- Position G&C as an industry thought leader through strategic content, media relations, and public speaking engagements.
- Cultivate partnerships and represent the brand at key industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
Team Building & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of marketing and communications professionals.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, HR, and other departments to ensure unified messaging and strategy execution across the business.
Crisis & Reputation Management:
- Develop proactive communication strategies for reputation management and crisis communications, ensuring consistent, timely responses across all channels.
Digital Transformation & Innovation:
- Champion digital initiatives that streamline marketing operations and enhance the customer experience.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies to keep our marketing strategy ahead of the curve.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
8-12 years of progressive leadership experience in marketing and communications—ideally within the food distribution, retail, or logistics sectors.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Proven Expertise:

Demonstrated success in developing and executing global, multi-channel marketing and communications strategies.
Strong background in digital marketing, brand management, and integrated campaign execution.

Leadership & Communication:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Analytical & Strategic Thinking:

Proficient in marketing analytics tools with a track record of leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making.
A creative, forward-thinking mindset combined with strong problem-solving skills.

Global & Cultural Acumen:

Experience in navigating culturally diverse markets and crafting strategies that resonate across international borders.
