POSITION SUMMARY
The Healthcare Advancement Resource Center (HARC) is a grant-funded initiative supported by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and other funding sources. HARC’s mission is to connect internationally trained medical graduates (IMGs) with educational and employment opportunities to meet the demand for linguistically and culturally competent healthcare providers in the U.S. Specifically, HARC assists healthcare professionals from around the world who have relocated to New York but have been unable to practice their profession in obtaining the necessary credentials and licensure to reenter the healthcare workforce.
Under the supervision of the Director, the Educational Case Manager will provide comprehensive educational case management and counseling services to HARC participants. This role includes assisting participants with their educational and career development, offering support with credentialing processes, training opportunities, and career pathways. At the direction of the Director, the Educational Case Manager may represent the program and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that participants have access to the essential tools and resources for their success.
This full-time position requires in-person work and hosting learning sessions one to two Saturdays per month (8:30 am - 5:00 pm).
This position is a grant funded position. Renewal is based on funding being available
from external sources and the performance review process by external sources and is
contingent on the continued receival of those funds.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
Collaborate with the Director and Center staff to generate data for grant proposals and reports and participate in the grant writing process.
Collaborate with the HARC educational case managers to recruit Center participants.
Conduct assessments of Center participants, which include gathering information on professional education and work experience in the country of origin, education/work experience in the US, a summary of efforts/approaches to practicing the profession, the reason for migration, and an assessment of motivation, strengths, and areas of growth as related to achieving professional goals.
Collaborate with Center staff to develop a Career Pathway Plan for each participant.
Successfully provide case management services to assist participants in researching licensing processes, validating credentials, referrals for study courses, assistance with applications, research on alternative career programs, and linkage to opportunities in the health care field.
Provide brief supportive counseling, motivational counseling, and problem-solving focused on professional transitions and adaptation in the United States.
Conduct a follow-up assessment of participants to examine progress on interim steps, goals, and barriers encountered.
Provide other educational/support group activities for participants as needed.
Collaborate with the Director to promote and advocate for participants by connecting with campus and community partners, employers, and other agencies.
Collaborate with Center staff to maintain files for all participants in caseload and uphold professional standards of documentation of assessments, plans, and progress notes.
Collaborate with Center staff to ensure the Center is diverse and inclusive and provides appropriate resources to participants.
Teach resource courses as needed (ENL, English for Healthcare Professions, etc.).
Create and implement a Center marketing and communication plan in collaboration with the HARC Director and the Office of Marketing and Communications.
Coordinate the development of recruitment and other promotional and informational materials (website development, brochures, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in education, law, health-related field, or social work
Bi-multilingual proficiency in spoken and written English and an additional language
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and one to two Saturdays a month.
Experience in grant writing, case, and budget management.
Experience managing grant budgets.
Knowledge of health care professions in New York State.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Self-starter enthusiastic about establishing the Center’s processes and workflows.
Ability to represent the Center to prospective participants and community partners.
Ability to interact with a variety of personalities professionally.
Ability to work professionally and ethically within a multicultural setting, including maintaining confidentiality and privacy of persons, documents, data, and communications.
Competent in virtual working and teaching applications.
