Liberty Resources is currently seeking a Mental Health Counselor (Licensed) for our Integrated Health Care clinic.
Position Summary:
This is a full-time 40-hour per week licensed position that requires the ability to perform clinical duties with professional independence, while receiving guidance and support from senior clinical staff as needed. Mental Health Counselor (Licensed) is responsible for independently providing outpatient mental health services, including diagnostic assessments and psychotherapy, to individuals, couples, families, and groups at the Integrated Health Care Clinic. With support from senior clinical staff, the Mental Health Counselor (Licensed) is also responsible for coordinating clinical training activities for graduate-level interns. The work will be performed at the employer's worksite at: 1045 James St., Syracuse, NY 13203.

Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for new clients.
- Develop and implement individualized, recovery-focused treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
- Utilize clinical interventions to support clients in achieving treatment plan goals, with a focus on long-term outcomes and permanency.
- Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence-based clinical practices.
- Use clinical data to inform treatment planning, improve practice, and support program compliance.
- Identify and report untoward incidents in accordance with the agency and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate services with external providers (e.g., schools, legal systems, social services) and maintain effective professional relationships with community organizations and the clinical team to ensure continuity of care, advocacy, and integrated treatment planning.
- Coordinate clinical training activities for graduate student interns, including scheduling, monitoring, and supporting program requirements, with support of senior clinical staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, clinical supervision, and required trainings.
- Maintain clinical records in compliance with agency and regulatory standards, including progress notes, treatment plans, and outcome documentation.
- Meet established productivity expectations, including maintaining a minimum of 27.5 billable service units per week following a six-week onboarding period, unless otherwise authorized.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned that are relevant to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a foreign equivalent
- An active, unrestricted New York State license as one of the following: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- At least three years of post-licensure clinical experience providing mental health counseling services to diverse populations, with a focus on trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, and services for youth
- At least one year of experience conducting clinical orientation and onboarding for interns in a clinical setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Flexible availability to work varied days and hours, including evening availability one day per week to accommodate client needs.
Special Skills:
- Knowledge of applicable New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations.
Pay: $67,000 per year
