Overview
Are you a culinary visionary with a passion for creating unforgettable dining experiences? Join our team as an Executive Chef and lead our kitchen to new heights!
Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Location: Nottingham Independent Living, Jamesville, NY
Average shift: 11:30am-8pm 5 days per week
Weekends: Every other weekend off, and working every other opposite weekend

Responsibilities
- Plan and Direct: You’ll be the culinary conductor, orchestrating food preparation and kitchen activities. Your creativity will shine as you modify menus or introduce new dishes that meet our quality standards.
- Cost Management: Estimate food requirements and labor costs. You’ll keep a keen eye on the bottom line while ensuring flavor explosions on every plate.
- Supervise: Lead by example! Manage kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive work environment.
- Problem Solver: When the soufflé deflates or the risotto sticks, you’ll swoop in like a culinary superhero.
- Admin Extraordinaire: Handle administrative tasks, from inventory management to staff training.
- Safety First: Comply with nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards. No shortcuts for health codes

Qualifications
- Experience: Proven track record as a Head Chef for 2-4 years. You’ve danced with knives and flames, and your kitchen management skills are Michelin-star-worthy.
- Resourceful: Spot problems faster than a sauté pan heats up. Delegate tasks like a seasoned pro.
- Communication Skills: You’ll chat with ingredients, negotiate with suppliers, and inspire your team—all in a day’s work.
- Organizational: Familiarity with software (MS Office, restaurant management tools, POS systems) keeps you ahead of the culinary curve.
- Education: A degree in Culinary Science or a related certificate adds some extra spice but is not required. A high school diploma or GED is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
