Professional Rank and Salary Range: SL-2, $60,000 - 65,000 Duration: Calendar Year (this position follows a 12-month schedule) Brief Description of Duties: SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Building Automation & Energy Coordinator to support our Facilities team! The candidate will serve as the technical lead for campus building automation and energy including but not limited to pneumatic and digital HVAC controls, life safety systems, generators, access control & security systems, lighting controls, and other low voltage and controls systems. Energy coordination efforts will primarily include conducting energy audits, analyzing energy data, and implementing strategies to improve overall efficiency. The candidate will serve as an extension of the Central Heating Plant and will interface, coordinate, consult, and provide subject matter expertise to the Campus and outside vendors. For awareness, our BAS software, fire suppression, fire alarms, generators, HVAC equipment, and access control & security systems are supported with outside vendorsYou will manage these vendors for major repairs while some projects and other tasks are completed in house across multiple disciplines with the new incumbent at the lead. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct routine issues and abnormalities relating to building automation, access control &security, life safety, and other low voltage and controls systems.
- Monitor, improve, maintain, and report campus-wide energy consumption and utility metering data.
- Manage and interface with outside vendors for the execution of preventative maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of building automation and control systems, and for installation, implementation, and commissioning of new or retrofit systems to ensure compliance and conformance with Campus standards.
- Craft scopes of work to solicit vendor proposals and assist with the completion of purchase orders and invoicing
- Work in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook applications with proficiency
- Develop department standards, procedures, and standards of work
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications - Associates Degree and 2+ years' of experience; or a combination of technical education and/or certifications with 4+ years' closely related experience
- When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
Preferred Qualifications - Carrier i-VU, Alerton Compass, and Automated Logic WebCTRL building automation systems experience
- SUNY procurement experience
- Possess an active NYDOS fire alarm installer license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, with knowledge of Microsoft Projects and Acrobat Adobe DC.
- Experience working with NYSEG, NYSERDA, and NYPA to apply and receive available rebates
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with documentation and submission of regulatory requirements in strict conformance with all applicable laws and regulations
