Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Performance Responsibilities and Standards:
- Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before payment
- Processes invoices into computer system, coded accurately and in the right reporting period
- Paying vendors by scheduling checks and ensuring payment is received of outstanding credit
- Ensuring all invoices and check requests are scanned into Sage Intacct
- Prints all accounts payable checks
- Distributes signed checks as required
- Respond to all vendor inquires in a timely manner
- Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and account payable files
- Follows up on uncleared checks timely
- Processes daily deposits including credit card processing
- Obtain/Scan and enter new vendor W-9’s information.
- Understand and adhere to agency policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two to three years’ previous experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk 90% of the day. Frequent sitting, standing, walking.
- Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written or verbal communication.
- Ability to express oneself verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use the telephone and communicate over the phone.
- Extended periods of computer use.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
- Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category III - Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids
