Minimum Qualifications Education Level Required: bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Associate’s degree with 7 years direct, relevant experience may substitute.
Relevant Experience required: A minimum of five (5) years of experience required. Proven experience in a leadership or administrative role, preferably in economic development. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge Required: Excellent written and verbal communication to skills including ability to communicate clearly in public settings, is critical. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g. Monday.com). Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong attention to detail and independent follow through are highly important. High level of discretion and confidentiality. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and other senior ESD leaders to support overall success of the office. High competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook & PowerPoint).
ALTERNATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNAL CANDIDATES: A minimum of 5 years of
satisfactory service in another (relevant) position with Empire State Development. Up to 2 years of accredited post-secondary education, or service in the U.S. military may be substituted for service at ESD.

BASIC FUNCTION:
Manage the administration and coordination of economic development initiatives and projects on behalf of the SVP/Executive Director of GO-SEMI. GO-SEMI seeks a dynamic and highly organized Sr. Project Manager to support the Executive Director in the effective management of a variety of strategic initiatives, projects, and tasks. This position will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and implementation of various GO-SEMI strategic initiatives in partnership with a wide range of government, non-profit, industry and academic stakeholders.
WORK PERFORMED:
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
• Prepare and review documents, reports, and presentations for accuracy and completeness.
• Handle correspondence on behalf of the Director, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups.
• Oversee and manage specific projects or initiatives as delegated by the Director.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met and objectives achieved.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to keep projects on track.
• Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment across projects.
• Support Executive Director in the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Director to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within the office.
• Drive the development of new initiatives in response to shifting strategy and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strategic ecosystems and relationships across industry, academia, nonprofit, economic development organizations, government, and others as needed in service at specific project goals.
• Act as a liaison between the Executive Director and other ESD staff and external organizations fostering clear communication and collaboration.
• Provide guidance and support to other ESD departments and leaders helping to resolve issues and promote a positive work environment.
• Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of office staff, ensuring the team is well equipped to meet organizational goals.
• Other projects and duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
