Under the guidance of the Director of Recruitment & Selection, the Recruiting Associate contributes to the growth of the Rochester, NY District Office through administrative, marketing, branding and promotional duties for Northwestern Mutual's Full-time Financial Representative and Top 10 College Financial Representative internship at local Universities and Colleges and plays a vital role in the growth strategy of the office by increasing Northwestern Mutual's profile and presence on campuses and facilitating relationships between the University’s/Colleges and the firm. A successful candidate must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, as well as be a dependable and responsible individual.
About the Role
This role provides support for all recruiting and onboarding efforts for the Rochester district office. This position involves performing functions that allow the recruiting team to efficiently attract, recruit, select and contract financial representatives. This position will have an overall understanding of the recruitment and selection process. This position also onboards and follows college interns through their journey with Northwestern Mutual, providing support and guidance every step of the way.
Responsibilities
Recruiting Support:
- Recruiting support for roughly 15 Full-time Financial Representatives per year and 20 interns to the TeamROC Internship program.
- Maintain a supply of all recruiting materials and resources.
- Effectively communicate with candidates during the Mutual Fit selection process.
- Coordinate community events and college campus career fairs.
- Schedule virtual and in-person interviews as needed.
- Coordinate and execute any recruitment promotions/campaigns/marketing.
- Track recruitment activity and prepare reports for Managing Director and Director of Selection.
- Assist in the administration of selection profile tools as needed.
- Provide support to all levels of leadership involved in candidate selection.
- Source resumes from job boards, postings, and community events.
- Create feed lists via social media LinkedIn, etc.
- Maintain Applicant Tracking System via home office-supported software (NM Talent).
- Relationship building and maintaining with local college contacts.
- Weekly meeting with FADP candidates to assist them in becoming Full-Time Financial Representatives.
- Onboarding College Interns:
- Onboard contract & licensing all incoming Interns with the Rochester office and assist the CLR coordinator for Full-time on an as needed basis.
- Assist in the candidate’s completion of all contract and licensing paperwork.
- Schedule and track candidate’s licensing, registration requirements, and training.
- Process all contract and licensing paperwork to contract approval.
- Order New York State Life, Accident & Health license as well as maintain renewals as necessary.
- Communicate onboarding status per class to leadership team.
- Stay up to date in the knowledge of new procedures/requirements.
- Attend monthly CLR home office and district office calls/study groups.
- Complete reimbursement with home office on licenses for internship program.
- Assist with Tech Set-up for each internship class.
- Coordinate conference rooms & training schedule bookings as needed for internship program.
- Assist with registrations for home office meetings (Eastern/Annual).
- Create bios in kitchen for all new office members.
- Coordinate office set-up and orientation for all new representatives (Internship & Full Time).
- Coordinate and record college internship tracking of weekly stipends and attendance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience or educational background in marketing, recruiting or business.
- One to three years professional work experience, preferably in sales, recruiting or the financial services industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally as a team member and with all levels of people.
- Experience with prospecting; generating leads via phone or face-to-face interactions preferred.
- Strong personal network and/or community involvement to leverage from a recruiting perspective.
- Ability to work independently with proper direction.
- Detail oriented with above average organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient and comfortable with computers, computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and LinkedIn.
