Job Description: This is a Federal Work Study (FWS) position The Native/Indigenous Admissions Specialist will support the Office of Admissions in promoting Onondaga Community College to prospective Native/Indigenous students and families. The role is ideal for a student who is passionate about higher education, enjoys engaging with people, and wants hands-on experience and recruitment processes. Responsibilities May Include: - Assist in planning campus tours, open houses, Center for Native/Indigenous Students Tours, OCC Haudenosaunee Arts Fest and other recruitment events.
- Serve as a tour guide and along with Native/Indigenous Admissions Coordinator provide campus tours to prospective Native/Indigenous Students and families.
- Assist in responding to prospective student inquiries via email, phone and in person.
- Support data entry filing, and other administrative tasks related to prospective student records.
- Help prepare admission materials such as packets, brochures and mailings.
- Contribute to social media and digital outreach methods.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: - Current student in good standing at OCC
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking to groups
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and basic data entry
- Passion for promoting higher education and student success
- Knowledge of Haudenosaunee Culture and Traditions
- Knowledge of Haudenosaunee languages are a plus.
Additional Information: - Pay Rate: $16.75
- Hours of Operation: 10-20 hours (flexible to accommodate class schedule). Some evening or weekend availability may be required for events.
