Job Description: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Working with the Head Esports Coach to register and maintain teams for competitive play within the NJCAAe on the LeagueOS platform.
- Work with players to hone gaming skills and techniques.
- Act professionally when communicating with players, coaches, media and individuals in the community.
- Attend practices as assigned by the Head Coach and matches when assigned by the NJCAAe.
- Be knowledgeable of the college's policies and procedures on recruiting, academic programs, and philosophy of athletic programs.
- Have an operational understanding of National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAe) rules and requirements.
- Assist Head Coach with recruiting qualified student-athletes to Onondaga Community College.
- Understand that the Head Coach is responsible for dealing with vendors and fundraisers.
- Be responsible for the players and assignments in the absence of the Head Coach.
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalency.
- Prior coaching experience in the sport, preferably at the secondary or post-secondary level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to work with computers and supervise work study students when necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Familiarity with discord, LeagueOS, and streaming platforms (Twitch) a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.
Additional Information: Total pay from time of hire through end of semester 5/31/25 is $4,239.33. There is the possibility of position renewal for the 25/26 season.
