Job Description:
Adjunct positions available to teach of HIT 120: Medical terminology and HPR 101: Intro to Health Professions. Courses to be offered on OCC main campus during day and evening hours. Major responsibilities include: - Prepare and present lectures.
- Meet with students as needed to answer questions.
- Respond to student queries (e.g. email or voice mail) as needed, in a reasonably timely manner.
- Write, administer, and grade all student assignments and exams.
- Compute grades and submit them on time.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Associate's degree in health care field with two (2) years' work experience in a health-related field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency.
- Active health-related license, credential or certification - (must provide copy of license/certificate or credential for consideration).
PEFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare field from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency
- Prior experience teaching college level courses.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.
Additional Information:
- Adjunct rate of pay for the 25/26 academic year is $1,483/credit hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.
- Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
