Job Description: The Onondaga Community College Testing Services Center ensures a secure, professional, and student-centered environment for all testing activities. Reporting to the Director of the Learning Center, the Testing Services Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center at Onondaga Community College. This role ensures accurate, secure, and student-centered administration of academic testing services, including accommodated testing, placement testing, and make-up exams. The coordinator serves as a primary liaison with faculty, staff, and Disability Services to deliver high-quality testing support while upholding compliance standards and maintaining a positive testing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Testing Services Operations - Oversee the scheduling and administration of academic exams, including placement, make-up, accommodation, and certification exams.
- Coordinate scheduling, proctoring and maintain certification for external industry exams (NHA, CLEP, etc.).
- Ensure the integrity of test administration through adherence to security protocols and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Maintain compliance with ADA, Section 504, FERPA, and institutional policies.
- Troubleshoot and manage testing software, hardware, and platforms to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Track and report testing usage, accommodations, and operational challenges.
- Develop and update procedures, forms, and communications to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accreditation standards for the National College Testing Association (NCTA).
- Train students, faculty and staff on testing policies, procedures and technology platforms.
- Supervise and train student workers and part-time staff assisting in Testing Services.
Faculty and Student Outreach and Collaboration - Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty regarding test submissions and administration.
- Collaborate with Office of Accessibility Resources to implement appropriate accommodations.
- Work closely with academic departments to address exam-related concerns and ensure timely resolution.
- Provide clear, professional communication to students regarding testing policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, ensuring timely communication and professional problem-solving.
Data & Reporting - Monitor and analyze testing data for usage trends, student outcomes, and operational improvements.
- Prepare and share reports with leadership and campus stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of services through assessment and feedback mechanisms.
- Coordination with Student Learning Center/English Language Institute (ELI)
- Work with Learning Center staff and leadership to coordinate tutor/proctor work schedules during high volume/off-peak periods.
- Work with ELI staff and onboarding to identify and support ELL testing accommodations.
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university, or foreign equivalency.
- Experience working in a testing center, academic support office, or educational setting (including internships, student employment, or volunteer roles).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to shifting priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience coordinating academic testing or exam administration.
- Familiarity with educational technology platforms or scheduling tools (e.g., RegisterBlast, Starfish Analytics, LMS systems).
- Knowledge of ADA, Section 504 and FERPA compliance in educational settings.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including first-generation or underrepresented students.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, take initiative, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Knowledge of academic testing procedures and student support services.
- Skill in effective and professional communication with students, faculty, and staff.
- Skill in data tracking and reporting through spreadsheets, databases, or related tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot common technology issues and learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow professional standards.

Additional Information: - Salary range is: $44,000- $55,000, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
