The Student Orientation, Leadership & Engagement (SOLE) office is searching for friendly, outgoing, responsible and flexible OCC students who are interested in joining our team as an Engagement Crew Member. Engagement Crew will have the opportunity to serve and gain professional experiences in a number of areas, such as working in the main office, serving as a Lazer Lounge attendant or assisting at special events. - Greet, direct and provide information to students (and guests) about the College and the Student Orientation, Leadership & Engagement (SOLE) office, including providing contact information for professional staff and SGA Officers.
- Assist SOLE professional staff by answering the phone, taking messages, and answering any general questions that may arise.
- Check office mailbox, send office mail as needed.
- Promote and support programming events which include but are not limited to: printing posters, putting up posters, going to events, posting to various social media sites, spreading the word about upcoming events.
- Supervise/manage Lazer Lounge guests and sign-in.
- Monitor game equipment check-in/out; usage and report missing/damage items as needed.
- General cleaning/upkeep of Lazer Lounge, keeping it presentable for students and guests.
- Other assignments and tasks as assigned by SOLE professional staff.
- Assist with the coordination and execution of events such as Party on the Quad, Dance Parties, Mental Health Fair, Performers and Speakers, etc.
- Assisting with setting-up/breaking-down events.
- Maintaining a clean and safe event space for OCC students.
- Be available to assist with after-hour events including but not limited to evenings and weekends.
Requirements: - Must have a valid FAFSA on file
- Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA
- Must be matriculated into a program
- Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours) Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program
- Fun and outgoing personality; willingness to help others and good customer service
Additional Information: Pay Rate: Starting rate of $15.50 for new Federal Work Studies. - Starting rate of $16.75 for returning Federal Work Studies
