Job Description:
Senior Land Surveyor
Qatar
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Land Surveyor to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing land surveying activities on construction sites, ensuring the accuracy of data collection, alignment with project specifications, and coordination with design and construction teams. Your expertise will support the successful execution of infrastructure projects by ensuring precise site measurements and layout.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supervising and coordinating all land surveying activities on-site to ensure accuracy and consistency with project plans and specifications.
- Reviewing and verifying survey data, field measurements, and calculations to support engineering and construction teams.
- Ensuring that survey instruments and equipment are calibrated and properly maintained for optimal performance.
- Preparing detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation for use in project planning and execution.
- Monitoring subcontractor surveyors and verifying their work to maintain project quality standards.
- Coordinating with Resident Engineers, design consultants, and contractors to resolve survey-related issues promptly.
- Leading site inspections and layout verifications for construction works, including roads, utilities, and infrastructure components.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures during survey operations.
- Mentoring junior surveyors and providing technical guidance and quality control.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution, subject to approval by the Engineer.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 5 years in a senior or supervisory role on infrastructure or civil projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of surveying methodologies, instruments (Total Stations, GPS, Auto Levels), and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure projects including highways, utilities, drainage, and land development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing survey reports, field notes, and technical documentation.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience working in the Gulf region is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of local surveying standards, regulations, and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple survey tasks and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with GIS applications and data integration is a plus.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Leadership abilities with a collaborative mindset to work across teams and disciplines.
