Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Horticultural Specialist to join our team! In this role you will provide the advanced technical expertise in horticulture relevant to all softscape elements of the project through the entire lifecycle process including off-site pre-delivery inspections, tagging, storage, transportation, management and maintenance of all plant material for incorporation into the works.
What You'll Be Doing:
Management of plant species, shrubs, ground covers and grasses.
Managing the health and quality of soil and how to improve them for best growth of trees and plants.
Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure landscape design specifications and provide solutions as per site conditions.
Supervise the contractor for procurement, installation and maintenance of the required landscape plants, structures and materials.
Supervision and management of all horticulture related projects on site and off site.
Identification, installation and cultivation of planting in accordance with the design and specification.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure landscape design specifications and provide solutions as per site conditions.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelors Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or related fields with 15 years of experience in landscape architecture, preferably on large infrastructure, urban development, or giga projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC, specifically related to horticulture
Proven ability to manage complex landscape and public realm projects in harsh climate conditions.
Experience with native plant species, xeriscaping, irrigation technologies, and sustainable landscape practices.
Experience in street tree planting with streetscape/ public realm
Experience in the translocation of native tree species
Experience in the establishment of native species
Experience in disease identification, plant stress management, and irrigation.
Strong background in project budgeting, resource management, and team leadership.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Professional Chartership advantageous including, certification Landscape Institute (CMLI) or other recognized international professional body E.G. Memberships (LEED, Saudi Green Building Forum) are advantageous.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficient in landscape design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp) and Microsoft Office.
SCE Membership.
