Job Description:
Parsons is recruiting for a GIS Specialist who will be responsible for applying advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) principles and spatial data management techniques to support the planning, engineering, and construction of the core infrastructure and urban elements of THE LINE. This role requires deep technical expertise in Esri software, data automation, and integrating geospatial workflows with Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support the creation of a comprehensive Digital Twin for the project.
What You'll Be Doing:
Spatial Data Management:
Design, develop, and maintain complex geodatabases (enterprise and mobile) for large-scale infrastructure projects (transportation, utilities, master planning, and vertical urban layers).
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency through rigorous QA/QC protocols, topology validation, and metadata management, adhering to NEOM and Parsons' project standards.
Geospatial Analysis & Cartography:
Perform complex spatial analyses, network analyses, site suitability studies, and data modeling to support engineering design, planning decisions, and risk assessment.
Produce high-quality, professional maps, reports, and geospatial deliverables for multidisciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.
Digital Engineering & Integration:
Lead and support the BIM/GIS integration workflows, spatially aligning engineering design models (from Civil 3D, Revit, etc.) with the authoritative GIS system.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the project's Digital Twin solution by ensuring accurate and timely ingestion of real-time and as-built geospatial data.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Technical Proficiency:
Expert-level proficiency with Esri ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/Online).
Proven experience in geodatabase design and administration (PostgreSQL/PostGIS or SQL Server preferred).
Strong practical experience with data automation using Python (ArcPy) and/or FME Desktop/Server.
Familiarity with BIM/CAD integration concepts and tools (e.g., Civil 3D, Revit, IFC/DWG formats).
Core Competencies:
Thorough understanding of spatial analysis techniques, coordinate systems, and projections.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex geospatial concepts to non-GIS professiona
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and multicultural mega-project environment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on professional experience in GIS, preferably within large-scale civil infrastructure, urban development, or master planning projects.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
