Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented PMIS Business Analyst to join our team! In this role you will get to work with the Governance and Tools team on the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project.

  • The role is ideal for a professional with foundational experience in project controls and data analysis, looking to grow within a dynamic environment focused on optimizing project delivery through technology.

  • The candidate will support the implementation, maintenance, and utilization of PMIS tools to ensure efficient project tracking, reporting, and decision-making.

  • The role offers hands-on exposure to project management best practices while contributing to data-driven insights that drive organizational success.

  • Additionally, the role provides opportunities to work within governance frameworks, including adhering to established policies, updating governance documentation, and becoming a subject matter expert (SME) in PMIS/Governance processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations using PMIS software (Kahua or similar platforms).

  • Support project controls activities, including monitoring project progress, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions to keep initiatives on track.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze project data from various sources to generate actionable insights, performance metrics, and dashboards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for PMIS enhancements and ensure data integrity within the system.

  • Prepare regular reports and visualizations such as project status, risks, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for stakeholders.

  • Provide user support and training on PMIS tools to team members, helping to resolve basic technical issues and improve adoption.

  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency in data handling and project workflows.

  • Participate in project meetings, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with established controls and standards.

Experience

  • 1-3+ years of relevant experience in project management, project controls, or data analysis (internships or entry-level roles count toward this).

  • Basic knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, or Waterfall) and tools.

  • Familiarity with PMIS systems or similar enterprise software for project tracking

Required skills and knowledge

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, Power BI for querying and visualizing data.

  • Understanding of project controls principles (cost, risk, plans etc)

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data trends and provide recommendations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
