Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Design Manager to join our multidisciplinary team supporting major Buildings, Landscape, Urban Planning, and Mixed-Use Development programs across Saudi Arabia.

In this role, you will lead the management, coordination, and technical delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects from pre-concept through IFC and construction support stages, ensuring alignment with client objectives, authority requirements, quality standards, schedule commitments, and commercial targets.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead multidisciplinary design teams across Buildings, Landscape, Planning, and Infrastructure-related packages.
  • Manage the full design lifecycle including:
    • Pre-Concept Design
    • Concept Design
    • Schematic Design
    • Detailed Design
    • Tender Documentation
    • IFC Delivery
  • Oversee coordination between Architecture, Landscape, Planning, Structures, Civil, MEP, ICT, Security, Sustainability, Lighting, Signage, and specialist disciplines.
  • Establish and implement project-wide design management procedures, governance systems, coordination protocols, and QA/QC processes.
  • Manage design consultants, subconsultants, and technical stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of coordinated design packages.
  • Lead multidisciplinary design workshops, interface coordination meetings, and technical review sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Saudi Building Code (SBC)
    • Local authority regulations
    • Client design guidelines
    • Sustainability requirements
    • International standards and best practices
  • Manage technical interfaces between buildings, public realm, landscape, utilities, mobility systems, and infrastructure.
  • Review and approve technical submissions, reports, BIM models, design packages, and authority submissions.
  • Coordinate with construction and PMC teams to ensure design constructability, sequencing integration, and construction readiness.
  • Lead value engineering and design optimization exercises.
  • Manage project risks, technical constraints, scope changes, and design-related commercial impacts.
  • Support business development activities, technical proposals, staffing plans, and client presentations.
  • Mentor and lead multidisciplinary design teams while promoting innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Ensure implementation of BIM and Digital Engineering standards across all project stages.
  • Interface directly with clients, authorities, contractors, and executive stakeholders.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in multidisciplinary design management.
  • Minimum 10 years in a senior leadership or design management role.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale developments, mixed-use projects, urban developments, public realm, or giga-projects.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination across:
    • Buildings
    • Landscape
    • Urban Planning
    • Infrastructure interfaces
    • Public Realm
  • Experience managing projects through all RIBA or equivalent design stages.
  • Strong knowledge of GCC regulations, Saudi codes, authority approval processes, and international standards.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary consultants and large technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of BIM workflows, digital coordination, clash detection, and Common Data Environment (CDE) processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Professional registration or chartership preferred.
  • PMP, LEED AP, Estidama, Mostadam, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience on major GCC development programs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design governance, technical assurance, and design guardian roles.
  • Experience in landscape-led urban developments and public realm integration.
  • Ability to drive innovation, sustainability, and smart city integration strategies.
  • Experience working within PMC, MDDC, or Lead Design Consultant environments.
