Summary/Objectives
The VP, Senior Commercial Lender is responsible for prospecting and servicing a variety of commercial loans. Builds a highly visible reputation as a commercial loan expert, resulting in the generation of quality commercial loans that meet the criteria of Pathfinder Bank’s loan policies.
We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Lender with a focus on Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending to join our team. As a key player in the mission of Pathfinder Bank, this individual will contribute to building strong relationships, supporting local businesses, and driving the success of entrepreneurs in the communities we serve. The position of VP, Senior Commercial Lender will also assist in achieving Bank and branch goals, and is expected to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced loan officers and other staff members.
Essential Functions
- Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with businesses and entrepreneurs.
- Act as a trusted advisor, understanding clients' unique needs, and providing tailored financial solutions.
- Assess the creditworthiness of businesses applying for commercial loans.
- Responsible for a portfolio of existing commercial loan and deposit customers including renewals, modifications, collections and portfolio monitoring.
- Work with a seasoned credit team on comprehensive financial analysis, risk assessments, and presenting findings to committees.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the communities we serve.
- Collaborate with local businesses, organizations, and professionals to expand the bank’s commercial client base.
- Structure and negotiate commercial loan transactions with a focus on meeting customer needs, while managing Bank risk.
- Work closely with loan committee(s) to secure approvals and ensure compliance with our lending policies.
- Take a proactive approach in identifying and addressing potential risks to support the long-term success of our customers.
- Be a mentor to other lenders and provide assistance when needed.
Secondary Functions
- Maintain knowledge of regional and national economic conditions, financing trends, lending regulations, loan documentation, delinquency trends, and loan procedures.
- Monitor and manage the performance of the commercial loan portfolio.
- Actively participate in community events, forums, and initiatives that align with our mission.
- Represent the bank as a positive force for local economic development.
- Perform such other duties, as may be assigned or required for efficient operation and business promotion of the Bank.
