The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring production schedules are met, safety standards are upheld, and quality specifications are consistently achieved. This role requires a leader with effective team management skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of employees to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to production timelines.
- Monitor and enforce quality standards to ensure all components meet design and customer specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies; promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate employees; provide constructive feedback and support employee development.
- Maintain accurate records related to production output, labor hours, material usage, and downtime.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to resolve technical or production issues.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Participate in daily production meetings and provide regular updates to management regarding department performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in a manufacturing-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, cutting, forming, and machining.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Exposure to moderate noise, heat, and manufacturing-related hazards; proper PPE is required at all times.
