Job Description
We invite you to bring your strong knowledge in Signaling Design principles specially for
world class railway project, into play as you shall co-ordinate with Project Manager and
Manager/ Principal Engineer and be primarily involved in delivering the scheduled tasks in the
form of design and drawings. To succeed in this role you must have knowledge on Signaling

You will join our Rail team
As our new Senior Principal Signaling Design Engineer you will be part of a world class,
innovation driven engineering design center owned by an independent trust and its
employees. You will collaborate with your colleagues to play a critical role in delivering on
railway projects that involve multiple clients in countries across Europe, primarily in
Germany. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence and based in our
India head office in Gurgaon. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally,
the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design by offering
optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be
• Managing, supporting, guiding and mentoring signaling team
• Desing of signaling interlocking system for any given track layout and any
modification in existing Panel interlocking signalling system due to change in layout
or augmentation of traffic facility or enhancing safety in system.
• Design of relay based panel-interlocking system for any type of yard layout
incorporating all safety, operational and logical features; route relay interlocking
for major yard layout, any modification in existing Route Relay Interlocking
signalling system due to change in layout or augmentation of traffic facility or
enhancing safety in system, block working with relay system and conventional
track circuits, with relay and axle counter system
• Preparation and production of all signaling designs, specifications, reports and
working drawings ensuring compliance with all contractual and statutory
requirements within agreed timescales and budget.
• Design of Location/REB wiring New and Alteration design, Bonding Plan, Cable
Schematic/Cable Core, Aspect sequence chart, Illuminated diagram/Panel, Location
Area Plan, Scheme Plan.
• GETS MCS Design-MCS Data, SpadAlert Data, ITD Data, Stepping Block, OSTO
• PnP location design, REB Design, FAdC Location
• Assisting in the preparation of estimates and tender documentation.
• Review the work of less experience engineers and CAD technicians in the team and
maintaining quality of deliverables to time and budget.
• Keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate apply best
practice within the team environment
• Proposes best approach to solve new problems encountered

We are looking for self-motivated team members who meet the following requirements:
• BE/B. Tech degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from an institute of
repute. ME/ M. Tech would be desirable
• Should have IRSE Signaling Designer License (1.1.510). Having IRSE Signaling
verifiers License (1.1.160) is additional advantage.
• Should have 10-15 years of experience in design of major railway signaling
projects including yard modifications and capacity enhancements.
• In-depth knowledge of railway signaling systems, technologies, and relevant
industry/international/European standards.
• Working experience on European/UK mainline, highspeed, metro and LRT projects
• German language professional working proficiency (Level B1/B2) is added
advantage
• Understanding of multi-discipline railway design interfaces
• Have technical / functional acumen, he should have good communication skills and
should be able to present their work
• Should be a good team member, self-motivated and should coordinate with other
team members and the project manager for timely delivery of project
• Good communication skills (English language skills in written and verbal) and the
ability to work within a small team whilst having a dedicated approach to working
within and meeting strict project deadlines
Requirements
Software’s Required – AutoCAD, Microstations and signalling sotware for CTC signals and
crossing applications (singalling solution, Balfor Betty & Westinghouse Plan softwred etc,.)
Experience Required - 10-15 Years
Language - German language professional working proficiency (Level B1/B2)
