The Registered Nurse Coordinator is a dynamic leadership role that contributes to the operational management of the office to promote and support an environment of excellent patient care. An individual in this role ensures compliance with all healthcare standards and requirements established by various licensing, regulatory, and accreditation bodies. A Coordinator maintains a working knowledge of policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. A Coordinator provides leadership while engaging staff and promoting evidenced based practice that supports and leads the office and/or organizational changes. A RN Coordinator helps to identify problems, offers solutions, and participates in their resolution. A candidate for this role should be comfortable providing patient care, managing staff, making decisions independently, and assuming managerial duties as necessary.
What you will do:
- Develop, coordinate, and implement staffing plan to ensure adequate care coverage.
- Evaluate retrospective, current and prospective unit productivity and adjust to reach targeted levels.
- Coordinate response to urgent/emergent situations as evidenced by reallocation of personnel and resources.
- Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care in addition to being involved in the provision of direct care of patients and families.
- Implement appropriate service recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with nursing education to facilitate orientation initiatives and provide preceptor education and support.
- Participate in hiring, evaluating, initiating corrective action and terminating employees as needed.
- Educate team members in theoretical and clinical competencies associated with care delivery typical of unit.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide formal feedback through performance development process.
- Collaborate with leadership to achieve office and organizational quality improvement and outcome-based initiatives.
- Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice.
- Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
- Participates in monitoring quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Act as 1) mentor; 2) clinician; 3) educator; 4) consultant/collaborator; and 5) navigator.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.
- Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred and must complete within five years of hire if you don’t have, according to NYS requirements.
- One to two years progressive experience in the field and/or leadership experience preferred. Experience in related field will be considered based on specific department needs and/or requirements. Certification/licensure as required by regulatory agency. Ideally the candidate will have strong clinical skills, leadership qualities and must be actively working toward an advanced degree.
- Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
- Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
- Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Pay Range: $37.00 - $49.79
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
