The Advanced Practice Provider will serve in a full-time role providing Critical Care management of patients in the Cardio-Pulmonary ICU and on the Step-Down Unit.
Responsibilities will be but not limited to:
Critical care skills needed:
Arterial line placement, central line placement, management of Swan-Ganz catheters, ECMO/Impella knowledge, management of inotropic medication and multiple drips, and ventilator settings and management.
NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of one (1) year cardiac surgery critical care experience.
CPR-BLS and ACLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Nights with rotating holidays and weekends.
This role is a night position where the APP is the only in-house provider for the cardiac surgery service with attending support via phone.
