The incumbent in this role will be will be responsible for acting as the liaison between the department and human resources for HR functions including hiring, onboarding, and terminations. Additional duties include but are not limited to: updating and maintaining the department website, maintaining records for faculty, students, and alumni relating to papers published and grants submitted. Maintaining database records of all non-faculty departmental employees and non-employees, including any voluntary or joint appointments. Finances and administrative functions related to common or core equipment. Submitting work request for physical plant and IMT. Maintaining signage for the department. Assisting with scheduling, travel reimbursements, and drafting correspondence.
Bachelors degree in a related field, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have demonstrated the ability to focus on details with accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple priorities. Requires organizational, written/oral communication and computer (proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and Word) skills.
Two years of relevant experience. Bachelors degree in Computer science, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biology, Math, Accounting, Management, Web design, or Life sciences. Administrative experience in an academic setting. Experience working in a research lab (not course work). Exposure to bookkeeping or accounting. Advanced Excel skills.

Salary range:$45,000-$55,000
