Position Summary:
Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or health professional. Works within their full scope of practice and ensures that high quality and safety is consistently delivered. Directly reports to the practices Nurse Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reviews and prepares patient charts prior to patient appointment;
Performs various duties related to the patient appointment and medical record such as vital signs, problems, medications, pharmacy and health history;
Epic EMR proficiency for routine clinical tasks, such as orders, changing providers, making/changing appointments, recording administered injections and use of quick disclosure;
Enters orders into EMR and obtains insurance authorizations for tests and DME, as indicated in provider notes/orders on patient visit date;
Able to act as a liaison between patients, providers, office staff and outside contacts. Ensures smooth provider workflow, solving problems and notifying staff and patients of provider delays;
Capable of collecting samples from patients, perform routine lab tests and administer medications;
Cleans and restocks rooms. Notifies Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager of supplies that need to be ordered;
Works closely with Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager and/or secretary staff to address chart/scheduling issues;
Assists providers with procedures. Prepares patients as required. Capable of anticipating both provider and patient needs;
Monitors patient satisfaction levels to ensure all patient complaints are reported to Nurse Manager and/or Practice manager to attain maximum patient satisfaction;
Capable of sterilizing instruments, using proper sterilization procedures and equipment (e.g., autoclave);
Adheres to practice policies and procedures;
Maintains current knowledge of health care issues, standards of practice, and CPT/ICD-10 codes?
Conducts symptom-based calls in Epic and refers to RN or provider for determination;
Initiates medication authorizations;
Responsible for patient calls that are directed to the assigned nurse pool and able to document in EPIC; and
Performs all other duties as assigned.
NYS licensed/registered LPN. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. Experience with electronic medical records. Familiarity with medical office procedures and standards of medical care.
Preferred Qualifications:Epic experience preferred.

8a-430p Candidate will work with nurse manager to determine days of week together.
Message to Applicants:$3000 sign on bonus, 1/2 to be paid at start and 1/2 to be paid after 6 months of satisfactory service.
Part time candidates may select a 24 or 32 hour position.
