Job Summary:
Upstate Oasis is an award-winning educational enrichment program for people 50+ focused on healthy aging and lifelong learning. Guided by the Oasis Institute's standards of excellence and the mission of Upstate Medical University, the director of Oasis supports and oversees all center operations for this program, which serves as an Upstate loyalty program for seniors. The job includes responsibilities for financial management; supervising and hiring staff; overseeing program growth and development; philanthropy; guiding the Advisory Council board; and to support marketing and media relations to promote Oasis. The director also is responsible for goals related to long-range planning and program growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years experience supervising employees in a management role. Direct experience related to business operations, including roles with fiscal responsibility, and achievements in program development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Tactful and supportive leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and general computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
8-10 years of supervisory experience and employed service in the the fields of non-profit or education, leadership role preferred. Program development skills, especially in senior education or for non-profit agencies preferred. Experience with older populations and a passion for supporting healthy aging a plus.
Work Days:
M-F 8:30 AM - 5 PM
