Job Summary:
Will be responsible for providing assistance in performing laboratory testing; receives, registers and accessions specimens; sends out cytology specimens and may assist with other AP specimen send outs; accessions consultation cases; verifies that incoming specimens correlate regarding patient identification with samples submitted and corresponding lab orders; generates labels for use by cytopreparatory technologists for specimen preparation, transports specimens from Cytology to ancillary testing labs; assists with staining set ups; orders supplies; assists with arranging preventive maintenance scheduling; assists with inventory; assists with cytology manuals updates/ revisions; uses the Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems for patient reports and data collection; answers phone calls and inquiries; faxes reports to customers and uploads reports into EPIC; assists with scheduling pathologist performed FNA procedures; attends meetings and in-services as required and retrieves data and compiles data for supervisors and medical director as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in medical field. Experience working with Beaker and EPIC systems.
Work Days:
M-F 8:30-5:00
