The Employee Labor Relations Representative administers key provisions in eight public union collective bargaining agreements, including discipline procedures, grievance administration, and contract interpretations. Advises officers, department chairs, administrators, directors, managers, and supervisors in addressing inappropriate conduct, poor work performance, etc. Develops and delivers training on a variety of employee/labor relations topics. Completes research projects as they relate to labor relations issues and compiles data/reports for management planning purposes and responses to complaints, as appropriate. Interacts with union leaders in a variety of venues and shares responsibility for attempting to build and maintain positive labor/management relations. Performs other employee/labor relations tasks as assigned.
Bachelors degree in Industrial Labor Relations, Human Resources or related field plus two years of related experience required. Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
Experience in an unionized environment, preferably in higher education and/or a hospital or healthcare setting.
