Position Overview:

Under direct supervision of the Manager Ambulatory Clinic oversees a staff of 15 comprised of RN’s, LPN’s, and Medical Assistants. Staff are responsible for supporting Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.

Supervisor Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Schedule nurses and clinical support staff
  • Creating and implementing nursing policies to foster a positive and organized work environment while planning, prioritizing and assigning health care tasks to clinical support team members
  • Encouraging all staff to adhere to the highest standards in patient care and conducting regular staff reviews
  • Maintaining knowledge of current trends in nursing and ambulatory care and educating teams
  • Communicating with patients and their family members as needed
  • Managing patient and employee records with a focus on following HIPAA regulations and quality standards
  • Providing a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians
  • Educate and train new nurses and evaluate their performance

Clinical Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients for the Department of OB/GYN.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in the practice.
  • Manage telephone communications with patients, providers, staff, insurance companies, and other outside entities
  • Triage patient calls and perform other clinical duties
  • Check in of patients,
  • Take vital signs,
  • Administer injections,
  • Assist clinician with exams,
  • Conduct prescription calls,
  • Arrange for patient testing,
  • Obtain authorizations and referrals for patient's insurance,
  • Assist with patient education,
  • Maintain medical charts,
  • Provide backup to other staff as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
