The Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations assists with the responsibility for managing and planning for the efficient and effective delivery of outpatient pharmacy services. This position also provides leadership for the 340B program and other activities pertaining to the business aspect of outpatient pharmacy services. The deputy director helps to provide a vision and leadership for SUNY Upstate University Hospital's efforts to expand outpatient pharmacy programs to benefit patients of our healthcare system and community. Responsibilities include monitoring and expanding the Outpatient Pharmacy and 340B retail programs including contract development, collaborating with purchasing, legal, and audit leadership, and monitoring outcomes. Other responsibilities include participating in meetings/committees as assigned by the Director or as pertains to responsibilities, advising the Hospital's officers of all issues pertaining to business aspects of pharmacy services, collaborating with other directors to establish efficiencies in services and revenue-generating initiatives, and developing procedures for areas under management.
B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD., NYS license/registration (or eligible) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of retail/hospital and specialty pharmacy required. Must have knowledge of 340B programs, internal and external pharmacy systems, retail/specialty pharmacy operations, plus effective organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills required.
MBA or completion of Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency preferred, or equivalent experience.
M-F between 8am-6pm, weekends and holidays based on operational need
