Job Summary:
PAS Registration Floater that must conduct courteous and professional patient interview across PAS registration sites: Community Campus, UH Central Registration, Emergency Departments, Outpatient Registration, Pre-Registration, 550 Harrison Center and UHCC. Completes insurance eligibility verification and obtains authorizations for emergency admissions, elective procedures and elective admissions. Conduct quality analysis of registrations, works claim edit and account level work queues and acts as a liaison between the end users and training team.
Minimum Qualifications:
The NYS Department of Civil Service has developed the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Hospital Patient Services Clerk 2 title.
For consideration for this title, you must meet one of the following minimum qualifications:
NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer
Or
Promotional:
You must be a qualified employee of the State University of New York and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Hospital Patient Services Clerk 1 or as a Nursing Station Clerk 1
Or
Open Competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:
Two years of full-time clerical experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time secretarial experience in a health care setting; or two years of full-time patient care experience in a health care setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday day shift with availability of 7a-7pm
