Product Engineer

As the Product Engineer at the Manlius, NY facility, you will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of Casegoods furniture by ensuring that production procedures efficiently utilize materials & personnel, and that the finished product meets the highest quality & specification standards of the cherished Stickley brand.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Manufacturing
- AND 2+ years of Engineering experience in Manufacturing (Furniture Manufacuring experience is preferred)
- Must possess and demonstrate mastery of software systems such as AutoCad, Excel
- Well versed in the implementation of tools and technology which will improve efficiency and outcomes
- Excellent time-management, project management and organizational skills
- Experience in MRP systems is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop fully engineered bills of materials and routings for the manufacturing of Stickley Furniture. Ensuring that the Process identifies all stages of the manufacturing code from grading materials to packaging for shipment.
- Create detailed drawings in AutoCAD and solid modeling software based on Stickley engineering standards and information provided by customers or design.
- Focus on Value engineering and cost out opportunities for Stickley products
- Works with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and that manufacturing schedules are attainable through timely completion of fully engineered package.
- Works with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Works with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production requirements and potential.
- Ensure cost effective manufacturing through early development of all essential figures and of fixtures, processes, tooling, etc.
- Utilizes blueprints and technical/engineered drawings.
- Works independently and displays a professional attitude and represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
