Accounting Intern
With over 125 years of manufacturing high-end, collector-quality, American-made furniture, and nearly as many years as a furniture retailer, L & J G Stickley, Inc., is the proud employer of almost 800 talented individuals. We have three manufacturing facilities and thirteen Showrooms. As part of our Summer Internship Program, we are seeking an Accounting Intern at our Manlius, NY location.
General Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support our Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions during the summer. This is a great opportunity for students pursuing a degree in accounting or business to gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with invoicing and payment processing for wholesale and retail customers
- Support credit and collections efforts under supervision
- Help with account reconciliations and basic financial analysis
- Participate in sales events by assisting with payment collection and order reconciliation
- Contribute to ongoing projects aimed at improving workflow and reducing paper use
- Provide general support to the Accounting & Finance team
What We're Looking For:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (coursework is sufficient)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
