Job Summary
We're looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and evolve our core technology environment. This role blends technical expertise with leadership, owning the performance, security, and reliability of our infrastructure while guiding day-to-day IT operations.
You'll play a key role in maintaining and improving our servers, networks, cloud platforms, security, and backup systems, while also supporting employees and partnering with leadership on strategic initiatives. What You'll Do

Lead the day-to-day operation of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud systems, backups, and security

Provide hands-on support and technical leadership across infrastructure and end-user environments

Prioritize and coordinate IT activities to ensure timely issue resolution and system uptime

Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services)

Manage Microsoft 365 and Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including user provisioning, access control, and licensing

Support and optimize virtual environments (Nutanix, VMware vSphere/vCenter)

Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure (switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, wireless)

Configure and support Cisco and Meraki networking equipment

Ensure data and system security through patching, monitoring, and best practices

Oversee backup and disaster recovery solutions (Commvault or similar)

Support infrastructure projects, vendor coordination, and long-term planning

Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and standards

Provide guidance and mentorship to IT staff and deliver excellent user support
What You Bring

Strong experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure in a hands-on role

Expertise in:

Virtualization (Nutanix, VMware)

Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID)

Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing/switching)

Security and access control best practices
-
Experience leading or mentoring team members, vendors, or technical projects

Ability to prioritize work, solve complex problems, and communicate clearly

Strong documentation and organizational skills

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to support users across multiple channels
Basic Qualifications

7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or network administration

Prior leadership experience (manager, team lead, or senior technical role)

Hands-on experience with virtualization, networking, and Microsoft environments

Experience with backup/recovery solutions (Commvault or similar)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Meraki and Cisco networking

Familiarity with MS SQL Server (clustered environments)

Experience supporting HIPAA, PCI, or other compliance standards

Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and modern identity management

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $98,000 - $125,000 per year (This is a sample expected range for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager in Central New York. The final offer will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, and market considerations.)
