We are looking for a per diem night shift registered nurse for our 23 hour stay unit working 7:00PM-7:30AM Monday and Thursday at our state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center Specialists One-Day Surgery Center in North Syracuse, NY. SODS is a regional leader in providing one day surgery to orthopedic patients in CNY, performing outpatient total joints and spine surgery.
RN Night Shift 23 Hour Stay - Per Diem
Job Location: Specialists’ One-Day Surgery Center Taft Road
Job Hours: 7:00PM-7:30AM Monday and Thursday
Pay Range: $32.71 - $45.00 per hour + $7/ hour shift differential
Job Description:
Responsibilities include caring for post-op total joint patients and spine patients in the 23 hour stay unit, as well as discharge care and teaching.
· Acts as a prep nurse and recovery room nurse for patients undergoing orthopedic surgery
· IV insertion in preparation for the procedure
· Discharge teaching
· Maintains a safe environment for the patient
· Pre-op and post-op patient phone calls, as needed
· Works as a team player with anesthesia team, MD’s, PA's, LPN’s, rad techs, and other ancillary staff
· Safely utilizes variety of procedural equipment
· Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
· Experience preferred, but not mandatory
· Current RN license required
· Current BLS certification required
· ACLS certification within one year
